2014 silverado temp gauge not working fans on high

Hey all - I have a 2014 Impala LT 2.5 that I've had for 6 years. Recently it's been acting weird randomly the temp gauge never moves from the lowest point. When it's doing that, the engine fans are on full speed, and will stay on for 10 minutes after turning the car off. It also prevents the AC from engaging, just blows warm air.

I have a 2015 Silverado 4.3. My temp gauge stops working and my fans stay on high. I’ve replaced my temp sensor and it is still doing it. If I unplug the battery and reconnect everything will work just fine for a few days, and then stops working again.
