I have 1A hair too, and cowashing has NEVER worked for me, including using the 'cleansing conditioners' that are designed to be used for it. My hair just ends up a heavy, dull, waxy-feeling mess. I've had much better luck with finding very mild shampoos, and I concentrate on my scalp when I cleanse, not my hair.
