Jan 6, 2015 · In 1997 David Kindig, co-chair of the Roundtable on Population Health Improvement and professor emeritus of population health sciences at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, wrote that “population health improvement will not be achieved until appropriate financial incentives are designed for this outcome” (Kindig, 1997, p. 174).
David Kindig's training as a physician, a health care executive, and his academic work in the field of health policy came together to inspire this innovative approach for extracting a higher quality of care at reasonable cost by establishing clear health outcomes measures as a purchasing standard.
