Two weeks ago on a trip I heard a ping, and got a 8" crack on the drivers' side of the front windshield. The crack has now grown to 2/3 of the way across the windshield.

Remove the switch assembly from the door. Take it apart as much as possible and try to get some contact cleaning spray or alcohol into the working parts.
