Sep 15, 2019 · The Mk3 GTi just wasn’t as good as the Mk2, and that turned people off in a big way. It was a shame for the Mk3 GTi, because in reality it was a good car. Had it been reviewed on its individual merits rather than always being compared to its forebear, it would have been a different story.
