Museo Correr (area Marciana) S. Marco 52, 30124 Venezia. Nato dalla collezione che Teodoro Correr lasciò alla città nel 1830. La progettazione e l’inizio della realizzazione dell’Ala Napoleonica, che chiude Piazza San Marco di fronte alla basilica, risalgono agli anni in cui Venezia fa parte di quel Regno d’Italia (1806-1814) di cui Napoleone è il sovrano .
The history of the Correr Museum begins with Teodoro Correr, who bequeathed his lifelong collection of art to Venice. Over the years, the museum was rearranged with subsequent acquisitions and from 1922 onwards the Museo Correr was moved to the Neoclassical Rooms of the Neapolitan Wing and partially in the Procuratie Nuove in St Mark’s Square.
